Family Literacy Night

Family Literacy Night
Very proud of 20 PBers who volunteered last night (5/18/2010) for a Family Literacy Night with two area elementary schools in Washington, D.C. Pitney Bowes and Reading Is Fundamental created a wonderful evening themed with communications through over five areas of activities. The children received stamps on a postcard for activities including a reading station, "make your own beaded bracelet" station (where kids had to spell out "hello" in different languages), a mask and animal communications station and "design your own stamp station.
All children received a book to take home with them donated by the Pitney Bowes Foundation.
An event enjoyed by approx. 400 participants incl. 250 children, their parents, volunteers and teachers. More events to come! Kudos to all the volunteers!
